A 16th-century Venetian alchemist is said to have found how to purify the lagoon.
From the Squero San Trovaso to the Zattere, his formula is carved into seven stones of Dorsoduro. The quarter of painters, gondola yards and the Punta della Dogana awaits you, between salt water and Giorgione light.

Dorsoduro, the laboratory of the Serenissima
In the 16th century, Dorsoduro drew alchemists, glassmakers and apothecaries from across Europe. The Squero San Trovaso still builds gondolas today with the gestures of that time. The Punta della Dogana, customs point of the Serenissima, saw spices, saltpetre and elixirs pass through in a trade where science and secrecy merged.
Palazzo Venier dei Leoni, unfinished in the 18th century, later became Peggy Guggenheim's home, but initiates already knew it as a quiet meeting place. From the Accademia to the Zattere, Dorsoduro remains the sestiere where Venice has always watched itself think.

At each stop, open your phone camera: an augmented reality character appears on the façade and speaks your language. Hunt the clue — it materializes as golden letters on the real wall or floats in front of you. When you find it, the phone vibrates, an AR chest opens and reveals your answer fragment. 8 stops, 8 clues to find with the camera, 1 final code.
The stops on your route are a surprise. You'll discover them one by one, guided by your phone, starting from the meeting point.
