What makes our off-the-beaten-path adventures different?

🗝️

Locals-only spots

Each puzzle anchors on a place 90% of tourists never see — a hidden courtyard, a quiet bookshop, a forgotten chapel, a rooftop only the building owners know.

AR storytelling

A character appears on the real façade and tells you why this overlooked place mattered to the city. No guide, no group, no schedule.

🎒

Solo or small group

Built for the JOMO crowd (Joy of Missing Out). Walk at your pace, take side detours, find your own corner of the city.

Frequently asked questions

What counts as a "hidden gem"?

A documented place with cultural, historical or architectural value that doesn’t make the typical "top 10 things to do in [city]" lists. Think a 14th-century wall fragment in a residential courtyard, a writers’ café from the 1920s still serving the same coffee, an alley with century-old graffiti. Real places, not made up.

Will I really see places tourists miss?

Yes — that’s the only filter for inclusion. If a spot appears on the first page of Google "things to do in [city]" we don’t use it. Players consistently report finding 60-80% of stops they’d never heard of, even in cities they’ve visited multiple times.

Best for solo travelers?

Yes — particularly designed for solo. The AR character is your companion narrator, the puzzles structure your day, you choose your own pace. Many solo female travelers report it as a way to spend a day in a new city without feeling either lonely or unsafe.

Are these tours safe in less touristy areas?

Routes are curated to avoid high-crime zones and stay in pedestrian-accessible areas. We avoid sketchy industrial zones, deserted docklands at night, and similar. If you’re going at dusk in any city, standard urban awareness applies.

Does this work in small cities or only big capitals?

Both — actually small cities (Tier-2/3) often have THE most concentrated hidden gems because their tourism circuit is short. A small Italian hill town might have 15 hidden spots in 1 km². Big cities have more total but spread thin.
