Velathri the untamed
Volterra, called Velathri by the Etruscans, was one of the twelve lucumonies of the Etruscan confederation. Its seven-meter walls protected the city from the 4th century BC.
Romanized then medieval, it still bears the mark of its first inhabitants and keeps carving alabaster as it did 2500 years ago.
