Its Rocca Sforzesca, an imposing fortress, bears witness to the power struggles between noble families and popes. But it was from the 1960s that Dozza began its unique artistic transformation: the 'Muro Dipinto' (Painted Wall) biennial invited artists from around the world to create frescoes on house facades, turning the village into an open-air museum where contemporary art dialogues with centuries-old architecture.
