Nestled on a green hill, Dozza is a medieval village whose history is etched in its stones. Its Rocca Sforzesca, an imposing fortress, bears witness to the power struggles between noble families and popes. But it was from the 1960s that Dozza began its unique artistic transformation: the 'Muro Dipinto' (Painted Wall) biennial invited artists from around the world to create frescoes on house facades, turning the village into an open-air museum where contemporary art dialogues with centuries-old architecture.
