On the trail of Toledo's warrior monks
📱 1 to 10 phones · 1 team per phone · Independent codes
In 1312, Pope Clement V dissolved the Knights Templar. Toledo's knights had a few days to make their most precious possessions disappear. No one knows what they hid — or where.
The Templars arrived in Toledo in the 12th century, in the wake of the Reconquista. They built churches, accumulated lands and riches, and guarded the pilgrimage routes. When their fall came in 1312, they had just enough time to act. The Order of Santiago inherited their assets — but not all of them. Some coffers were never found. Some crypts were never reopened.
You're not just buying an escape game. You're carrying a living city guide — historical anecdotes, forgotten legends, key monuments, hidden architecture — unfolding step by step as you walk.
At each stop, places ordinary guides miss — secret façades, sculpted crests, alleys steeped in history.
Every riddle is rooted in a real historical fact or local legend. You leave with dozens of stories to tell.
Learn to read buildings — flamboyant Gothic, Baroque, Art Deco — like a real art historian, while having fun.
Walk through the city like a novel's character — every alley becomes a stage, every square a theatre.
A voice walks with you at every step, tells the story of each place, reads clues, adds a cinematic feel.

« "The Templars did not hide their gold in the ground. They hid it in geometry." »— — In Toledo's churches, the Templar symbols can still be read with the naked eye
The Knights Templar established themselves on the Iberian Peninsula in the 12th century, drawn by the Reconquista and the riches it promised. In Toledo, reconquered by Alfonso VI in 1085, the Templars received lands, fortresses and privileges in exchange for defending the frontier with Al-Andalus.
The church of San Miguel el Alto, perched on one of the city's highest points, was one of their main places of worship. From there, you can see all of Toledo — and the entire Tagus. Strategic position or place of prayer? Both, naturally. The Templars never did anything by chance.
On 22 March 1312, at the Council of Vienne, Clement V suppressed the Order. In Castile, the dissolution was slower than in France — no brutal arrests, no pyres. The Toledan knights had time to scatter their archives, empty certain caches, seal others. The Orders of Santiago and Calatrava absorbed their assets. But the inventories show troubling gaps.
4 stages through the city
The gameplay: AR, camera, hidden clues
At each stop, open your phone camera: an augmented reality character appears on the façade and speaks your language. Hunt the clue — it materializes as golden letters on the real wall or floats in front of you. When you find it, the phone vibrates, an AR chest opens and reveals your answer fragment. 8 stops, 8 clues to find with the camera, 1 final code.
The stops on your route are a surprise. You'll discover them one by one, guided by your phone, starting from the meeting point.
One phone = one team. Pick the number at checkout (1 to 10).
