From the Temple of Juno to the sanctuary of the chthonic gods, every shrine of Akragas kept a fragment of a peace pact signed with Carthage. Rome had it destroyed because it proved the Punic Wars illegal. The fragments still exist, scattered along the ridge.

Akragas, rival of Athens
Founded in 582 BCE by Greek colonists from Gela, Akragas became within a century one of the Mediterranean’s richest cities. Its Valley of Temples aligns along a 3 km ridge seven Doric temples built between 510 and 430 BCE: Hera Lacinia, Concordia, Heracles, Olympian Zeus — the largest in the Doric world, never finished — the Dioscuri, Hephaestus and Asclepius.
The Temple of Concordia, built around 440 BCE, is one of the world’s best-preserved Greek temples thanks to its 6th-century conversion into a Christian cathedral by Bishop Gregory of Agrigento. Akragas was destroyed by Carthage in 406 BCE, rebuilt, then absorbed by Rome in 210 BCE. Pindar called it "the most beautiful city of mortals".

The gameplay: AR, camera, hidden clues
At each stop, open your phone camera: an augmented reality character appears on the façade and speaks your language. Hunt the clue — it materializes as golden letters on the real wall or floats in front of you. When you find it, the phone vibrates, an AR chest opens and reveals your answer fragment. 8 stops, 8 clues to find with the camera, 1 final code.
The stops on your route are a surprise. You'll discover them one by one, guided by your phone, starting from the meeting point.

Yes, from age 6 with an adult reading puzzles aloud, and from age 12 on their own. Kids love the "find the camera clue" part — it's very visual, gets them genuinely involved.
Q04What if we get stuck on a puzzle?
Three hint levels per puzzle, with a small increasing time penalty. If truly stuck after level 3, you can skip the step (45-min penalty). The point: nobody stays blocked and goes home frustrated.
