The last Portuguese resistance
In 1580, upon the death of Cardinal King Henry I, Portugal plunged into a dynastic crisis. Philip II of Spain, grandson of Manuel I through his mother, claimed the throne against António Prior do Crato, illegitimate son of Prince Louis. After the defeat at Alcântara in August 1580, Prior fled to the Azores, the only territory still loyal to his cause.
Angra do Heroísmo then became the capital of a free Portugal in exile. Prior established his court there, minted coins, and organized the resistance. Supported by Catherine de Medici's France and Elizabeth I's England, he hoped to reconquer the continent. But in 1583, Admiral Álvaro de Bazán, Marquis of Santa Cruz, landed in Terceira with 15,000 men and ended the last bastion of Portuguese independence.

At each stop, open your phone camera: an augmented reality character appears on the façade and speaks your language. Hunt the clue — it materializes as golden letters on the real wall or floats in front of you. When you find it, the phone vibrates, an AR chest opens and reveals your answer fragment. 8 stops, 8 clues to find with the camera, 1 final code.
