A war treasure buried in 571
From the Romanesque Duomo to the Arco di Druso, from the Rocca Albornoziana to the spectacular Ponte delle Torri — a 230 m long, 80 m high medieval viaduct — Spoleto layers 2,500 years of history. A runic inscription, says local legend, still marks the Lombard treasure.
« "Ubi runa, ibi aurum." »— — Inscription attributed to the Lombard dukes
Founded around 570, the Lombard duchy of Spoleto was one of Italy’s most powerful until 774. Its dukes minted coins and sometimes broke free of the king. The Roman city preserves an Arch of Drusus from AD 23 and a theatre, stacked with an early Christian basilica and the Romanesque Duomo consecrated in 1198.
In the 14th century Cardinal Albornoz returned Spoleto to the papacy and built the Rocca Albornoziana (1359-1370) and the Ponte delle Torri, an exceptional medieval aqueduct-viaduct spanning the valley. The structure probably rests on older Roman piers, which feeds the legends of the Lombard duke.

Outdoor escape game format: no physical locks, no actor, no fixed time slot. You start when you want, progress through Spoleto, Umbria with your phone, and the city itself is the set. More immersive on local history, more flexible in pace.
Easy stroll: between stops you walk 3 to 7 minutes. No tough climbs unless flagged on the product page. If you really want to push, you can jog between stops, but that's not the point.
No, solo works very well. The outdoor escape game format in self-guided mode leaves room for introspection: read the story at your pace, hunt clues like a detective. 2-6 players is more social, solo is more contemplative.
Depends on the exact route in Spoleto, Umbria. The vast majority of stops are downtown, on sidewalks or squares. If a stair or narrow passage is involved, it's flagged on the product page. Generally: yes, doable with a standard urban stroller.
