Your quest begins at Pile Gate, built in 1537 by Paskoje Miličević and Petar Martinovljević. This main entrance to Dubrovnik's Old Town is adorned with a statue of Saint Blaise from 1697, the city's patron saint. Nearby, the Great Onofrio's Fountain, erected in 1438 by Onofrio della Cava, testifies to Ragusan ingenuity: it was part of a 12 km aqueduct completed in 1444, supplying 13 fountains.
