From 1545 to 1563, Trent hosted the nineteenth ecumenical council of the Catholic Church, in response to the Protestant Reformation. For eighteen years, in the San Vigilio cathedral and Santa Maria Maggiore, cardinals and theologians redefined sacraments, liturgy and clerical discipline.
The city was ruled by the Prince-Bishops whose residence, Castel del Buonconsiglio, holds one of Europe's most splendid medieval fresco cycles: the Months of Torre Aquila, commissioned around 1400. Along Via Belenzani, Renaissance palazzi still bear witness to the splendour of this Alpine capital where imperial, papal and Germanic cultures met.

Hunt the clue — it materializes as golden letters on the real wall or floats in front of you.
