Battambang under the Red Shadow
Battambang province, Cambodia's rice bowl, was one of the areas most severely affected by the Khmer Rouge regime between 1975 and 1979. Millions of people were forced to leave cities to work in agricultural cooperatives, suffering famine, disease, and executions.
