Your journey begins at Plac Nowy, a circular square built in 1900 in the heart of Krakow's Kazimierz district. Once, until 1960, its central octagonal dome, 25 m in diameter, housed the cloth market (kirkut), a site of historical Jewish gatherings before World War II. Today, this square is famous for the zapiekanka festival, the iconic Polish sandwich.
