This interpretation has persisted, making 'Calypso's Cave' at Ramla Bay a pilgrimage site for mythology enthusiasts. Although archaeology has not provided definitive proof of Odysseus' presence, the myth has become embedded in Gozo's identity, influencing its culture, place names, and tourist appeal.
