Your quest begins at Valletta's City Gate, the official starting point of the itinerary. This gate, rebuilt in 1885 in a late Renaissance style, succeeded the 1633 structure. Standing 12 meters high and 15 meters wide, it is the main access to the fortified city from the mainland. Here, you will decipher the Latin inscriptions 'Melita Fortissima' (Malta the Strongest) and the symbols of the Order of Saint John, testaments to the resilience of this UNESCO World Heritage Site 1980.
