The story that haunts this land
Your exploration of Boa Vista begins at Praça do Centro Cívico Joaquim Nabuco, inaugurated in 1977. This central square, a result of the urban development planned by Silvio Carlos Kligermann, houses a 20-meter high commemorative obelisk honoring the pioneers of Roraima. Surrounded by imperial palms over its 10,000 m², it serves as a gathering point for civic events. Its name pays tribute to Joaquim Nabuco, a Brazilian abolitionist, highlighting the northeastern cultural heritage in this part of northern Brazil.
The Palácio Senador Hélio Campos, built in 1925, then welcomes you with its neoclassical architecture spanning 1,500 m². The historic seat of the Roraima government, it has been listed as a historical heritage site by IPHAN since 2005. Named in honor of Hélio Campos, senator and first constitutional governor in 1946, this palace now houses administrative offices and exhibitions, its facades adorned with allegorical sculptures representing Brazilian justice and unity. Continue towards the Monumento aos Pioneiros, inaugurated in 1982 on Avenida Capitão Clóvis Moreira.
