Humanity's first message
📱 1 to 10 phones · 1 team per phone · Independent codes
17,000 years ago, humans painted 600 figures on the walls of a cave in Périgord. These are not simple drawings — they are a message. No one has yet managed to fully decipher it.
On September 12, 1940, four teenagers stumbled upon a cave adorned with 17,000-year-old paintings. Five-meter-long bulls, galloping horses, stags with majestic antlers — and an enigmatic scene: a man toppled before a bison, a bird on a stick at his feet. What does this scene mean? Your investigation begins at the heart of the most faithful replica ever made of the original cave.
You're not just buying an escape game. You're carrying a living guide — historical anecdotes, forgotten legends, key monuments, hidden architecture — unfolding as you go.
At each stop, places ordinary guides miss — secret façades, sculpted crests, alleys steeped in history.

« "You don't understand Lascaux's art by looking at it — you understand it by living it." »— — Abbé Henri Breuil, "the Pope of Prehistory," 1940
On September 12, 1940, 18-year-old Marcel Ravidat and three friends explore a hole left by an uprooted tree on the Lascaux hillside. They slide through a narrow passage and emerge into an immense chamber adorned with hundreds of paintings. Abbé Henri Breuil, alerted to the discovery, immediately christens it "the Sistine Chapel of Prehistory."
The cave contains nearly 600 paintings and 1,500 engravings made around 17,000 years ago by Magdalenian Homo sapiens. The Hall of the Bulls features the largest cave art figures in the world — some aurochs measure over five meters. The Axial Gallery, nicknamed the "painted gallery," unfolds a frieze of horses, stags, and mysterious geometric signs.
The Shaft Scene remains one of Prehistory's greatest enigmas: a schematic man, toppled, faces a disemboweled bison. A bird perches on a stick at his feet. Is it a shaman in trance? A mythological narrative? A star map? Since 1963, the original cave has been closed to the public to preserve its paintings. Lascaux IV, inaugurated in 2016, offers a stunning full-scale replica.
5 stages through the city
The gameplay: AR, camera, hidden clues
At each stop, open your phone camera: an augmented reality character appears on the façade and speaks your language. Hunt the clue — it materializes as golden letters on the real wall or floats in front of you. When you find it, the phone vibrates, an AR chest opens and reveals your answer fragment. 8 stops, 8 clues to find with the camera, 1 final code.
The stops on your route are a surprise. You'll discover them one by one, guided by your phone, starting from the meeting point.
