Delos — Uncover Apollo & Artemis Birth Secrets

Your quest begins near the Sacred Palm, the starting point for your exploration of Delos, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1990. You walk along the Terrace of the Lions, erected around 600 BC by the Naxians. Seven Naxian marble lions, about 3 meters high, guard the sacred lake, the mythical birthplace of Apollo and Artemis. These replicas, installed in 1999 to preserve the originals now in the museum, symbolize Delos' power as a Panhellenic sanctuary in the 7th century BC.
