After the Seven Years' War, Great Britain sought to replenish its coffers by imposing new taxes on the American colonies. The Stamp Act of 1765 was one of the first measures to provoke fierce resistance. Colonists argued that, not being represented in Parliament, they should not be taxed. This idea, 'No taxation without representation,' became a rallying cry.
Tension culminated with the Tea Act of 1773, which granted a monopoly to the British East India Company. Although the price of tea was reduced, Bostonians saw it as another infringement on their liberties. At each stop, open your phone camera: an augmented reality character appears on the façade and speaks your language. Hunt the clue — it materializes as golden letters on the real wall or floats in front of you.
