Your quest begins in front of the Chor Minor architectural complex, a unique 19th-century ensemble commissioned in 1807 by the wealthy merchant Khalif-Niyaz-bai. Its four 12-meter-high minarets, adorned with turquoise faience tiles and geometric patterns, serve as a monumental gate. Although Chor Minor is not a mosque, it symbolizes Bukhara's architectural ingenuity and the influence of merchants on urban planning. Here, crucial clues about the threat to Silk Road trade await you, hidden in the symmetry of its domes.
You then head to the Po-i-Kalyan Complex, a major architectural ensemble in Bukhara built between the 11th and 16th centuries.
