The Kantei Conspiracy — Uncover the 72-Hour Cover-Up

🎭Your Mission

You are Shigeru Yoshida, Prime Minister of post-war Tokyo, 1952, facing an unprecedented crisis from the Kantei.

Your mission takes you through Nagat

Delve into the 72 hours that shook Japan, where state secrets and crucial decisions were made in the heart of Tokyo.

The story that haunts this land

Your investigation begins in front of the Prime Minister's Official Residence, the Kantei, a modern 40-meter-high concrete and glass building. Built in 2007 to replace the structure damaged by the 1923 earthquake, it has housed the offices of the Prime Minister of Japan since 2002. Designed by Kunio Maekawa, this 20,000 m² building, equipped with 500 kW solar panels, was one of Japan's first ecological government buildings. From here, you observe the security measures protecting this nerve center of power, crucial for understanding the decisions made by Shigeru Yoshida and Fumimaro Konoe, which shaped the nation's destiny.

Proceed to the National Diet Building, a 217-meter-long Western neoclassical colossus. Erected in 1936, it is the seat of Japan's bicameral Parliament and was where the post-World War II Constitution was adopted in 1947. Architect Yoshiro Waguri gave this edifice a 65-meter central dome, visible from all of Nagatachō. Although damaged during the 1945 bombing of Tokyo, it was restored in the 1950s. This is where laws are passed, debates rage, and decisions impacting the daily lives of Kanto citizens are made, a place of immense power and stakes.

Your route then takes you to the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), a postmodern building from 1996, recognizable by its 100-meter-long glass facade. Founded in 1925 as the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and renamed METI in 2001, it played a decisive role in Japan's economic reconstruction after 1945. With 80,000 m² of offices, it also houses the Japanese Patent Office, issuing 300,000 patents annually. This site is a silent witness to Japanese resilience and innovation, essential qualities for understanding Tokyo's place in the world.

A short walk away, you discover the Nippon Press Center Building, a 65-meter-high Metabolist edifice built in 1964 by Kunio Maekawa. This 15-story building in Uchisaiwaicho was inaugurated to host the media during the 1964 Tokyo Olympics, becoming the headquarters of the Japanese press. With its 500-seat conference center, it has been the venue for official government press conferences since 1964. This site embodies the dissemination of information, a key component in crisis management and public opinion formation in the Kanto region.

Finally, your quest concludes in the East Garden of the Imperial Palace, opened to the public in 1968. These 210,000 m² are the remains of the old moats of Edo Castle, rebuilt in 1457. They house Japan's largest stone watchtower, Fujimi Yagura (1625, 15 meters high), and 7 historic gates restored after 1945. The Ninomae Pond, dug in 1636, has been home to swans since 1970. This serene place, where Kijūrō Shidehara promoted constitutional peace, offers a perspective on Tokyo's millennia-old history and the contrast between political power and imperial tranquility, concluding your exploration of modern Japan's heritage.

No, never. You get a link, you click, it plays in your browser. That's the point of a PWA: same as an app, without the hassle.

Q02Does it work offline?

GPS yes (handled by your phone). Maps yes (tiles cached). AI and hints need an intermittent 4G connection.

Q03How long does a game take?

1 h 30 to 2 h 30 depending on your pace. The timer runs but only for the leaderboard — you play at your own tempo.

Q04What happens if I'm stuck?

You get 3 levels of hints per puzzle (increasing penalty). If truly stuck, you can skip the step (45-min penalty but you keep going).

Q05What's the age range?

From 12 without an adult, from 6 with an adult reading puzzles. Works for families, couples, friend groups, companies.

Q06What if my city isn't in the catalogue?

Pre-register or contact us — we'll email you as soon as your city is live.

Q07What is augmented reality exactly?

Point your phone at the façade: a historical character appears full-screen and speaks to you in your language. At the puzzle climax, golden letters magically write themselves on the real wall — that's your answer. After each puzzle solved, a treasure chest floats in front of you. Seeing is believing.
