3,000 standing stones, zero explanation
📱 1 to 10 phones · 1 team per phone · Independent codes
3,000 menhirs aligned in perfect rows for kilometers — nobody knows why. Druids, astronomers, or a message from the depths of time? The stones await the one who can read them.
The Carnac alignments are the world's largest megalithic complex. Over 3,000 menhirs erected between 4500 and 3300 BC form lines stretching more than four kilometers. No one — not archaeologists, astronomers, nor druids — has ever definitively explained their purpose. Your mission: walk the alignments, decode their patterns, and attempt to crack a mystery 5,000 years old.
« "The stones of Carnac are great books of stone whose key we have lost." »— — Prosper Mérimée, Inspector of Historic Monuments, 1835
Between 4500 and 3300 BC, thousands of Neolithic people erected over 3,000 menhirs in precise rows on the Carnac heath. The Ménec, Kermario, and Kerlescan alignments form three distinct groups that seem to follow a logic — but what logic?
Some archaeologists see a giant astronomical observatory aligned with the solstices. Others suggest a funerary cult site, as neighboring tumuli contain richly decorated burial chambers. Breton legend, meanwhile, claims they are Roman soldiers petrified by Saint Cornély, patron saint of Carnac.
The Saint-Michel tumulus, towering over the alignments, is one of the largest funerary monuments of European Neolithic. The Table des Marchands at Locmariaquer, a few kilometers away, bears even more mysterious engravings. Five millennia later, the stones keep their secret.
You're not just buying an escape game. You're carrying a living guide — historical anecdotes, forgotten legends, key monuments, hidden architecture — unfolding as you go.
At each stop, places ordinary guides miss — secret façades, sculpted crests, alleys steeped in history.
Every riddle is rooted in a real historical fact or local legend. You leave with dozens of stories to tell.
Learn to read buildings — flamboyant Gothic, Baroque, Art Deco — like a real art historian, while having fun.
Walk through the city like a novel's character — every alley becomes a stage, every square a theatre.
A voice walks with you at every step, tells the story of each place, reads clues, adds a cinematic feel.

The gameplay: AR, camera, hidden clues
At each stop, open your phone camera: an augmented reality character appears on the façade and speaks your language. Hunt the clue — it materializes as golden letters on the real wall or floats in front of you. When you find it, the phone vibrates, an AR chest opens and reveals your answer fragment. 8 stops, 8 clues to find with the camera, 1 final code.
The stops on your route are a surprise. You'll discover them one by one, guided by your phone, starting from the meeting point.

Yes — your code stays active and progress is saved. You can start Saturday afternoon, finish Sunday morning. Some players actually prefer this format to make the most of a full weekend on site.
Great two-person format. Narration is dramatic without overdoing it, puzzles are designed to spark conversation. Ideal for new relationships or anniversaries — you discover the city and coordinate on puzzles simultaneously.
Morning between 10 and 11, or early afternoon around 2 PM, is ideal. You still have daylight ahead, Carnac · Alignments & tumuli is less crowded, and the light is better for camera clues.
