Your quest begins at Kasteel van Breda, whose original construction dates back to 1190. Rebuilt between 1529 and 1546 by Henri III of Nassau-Breda in a Renaissance style that marked a departure from its fortified past, this 5-hectare estate is a historical monument of the Netherlands. From 1674, it was transformed into a military barracks, and since 1828 has housed the Koninklijke Militaire Academie.
